ReelGrobman, based in San Jose and one of the Silicon Valley's largest architecture interiors firms, merges with HGA, ranked among the top 10 architecture and engineering firms in the country. The ReelGrobman acquisition brings about a seamless integration of services, which includes everything from core/shell architectural design and engineering to corporate interiors services throughout the country.
Michael was instrumental in helping me bring this transaction to a successful close. He represented ReelGrobman’s interests
throughout the negotiation phase while maintaining perspective on what was important to HGA. Michael’s responsiveness and
detailed assistance during the final due diligence process allowed me to focus on other business matters and also sleep at night.
– Win Roney, President, ReelGrobman
“While our roots are firmly entrenched in Silicon Valley, we have always been a firm to embrace change, and this latest evolution is an exciting venture leading to a much larger, national platform for us,” said Winfield S. Roney, AIA, LEED-AP, president of ReelGrobman. “We are now able to extend our design services to our clients as they also expand and open offices outside of California. We invested time to make sure that our cultures, customer service and design principles were compatible and mutually valuable. We will be adding our 40-person, San Jose office to HGA's already existing seven offices – bringing HGA's national presence to more than 650 people.
Daniel Avchen, FAIA, Chief Executive Officer of HGA added “The acquisition of ReelGrobman is a natural fit for HGA. They are a strong market leader in the corporate interiors arena and bring well-known technology companies – such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Apple – to the HGA Roster. As a result, we now provide the full scope of architectural design services to the California market.”
Prior to and just after closing, HGA and ReelGrobman met with ReelGrobman’s key clients, who have embraced the acquisition as one that provides the combined firm with a solid platform to expand their reach and service offerings. Strogoff Consulting guided ReelGrobman through the acquisition and interacted with each firm’s team of attorneys, accountants, CFOs and advisors to reach agreement on a mutually beneficial framework. Upon the signing of the Letter of Intent, due diligence and closing was concluded within an eight week timeframe.
